The Harley Quinn Margarita
Batman: White Knight Presents Harley Quinn, written by Katana Collins and Sean Murphy, with art by Matteo Scalera, colors by Dave Stewart, and letters by Andworld Design, is a Harley Quinn focused spin-off series to Sean Murphy’s Batman: White Knight series. For fans of Harley Quinn, this is a must read series, considering it’s one of the most humanizing approaches to Harley Quinn. She’s more than just a caricature of herself. She has depth. She’s in the midst of an identity crisis: a struggling, single mom, as well as returning to her psychology roots in order to help catch a new killer in Gotham. As the story plays out, we get to know more about Harley’s past with the Joker, and how all this weaves together with the current situation. Whether you’re a new reader to Harley or the White Knight universe in general, or a long time devoted fan, this is a perfect book to get for yourself or any Harley fans in your life.
The Harley Quinn Margarita is the perfect pairing for Batman: White Knight Presents Harley Quinn. The fun yet sophisticated flavor, combined with the red and black look will get you in the right mood for reading. Not to mention, it’s pleasing both to the eye and as well as the palate.
- 2 hibiscus tea bags
- 1 cup blanco tequila
- ½ cup unsweetened pomegranate juice
- ½ cup orange juice
- ½ cup lime juice, plus 1 lime wedge
- 1 tablespoon Agave nectar
- 2 tablespoons black lava salt
Pour tequila over teabags in a pitcher; stir gently. The tequila will turn bright red when it’s fully diffused, about 10 to 15 minutes. Discard the tea bags.
Stir into the tequila, the pomegranate, orange and lime juices and fully combine. (If you like a sweeter cocktail, add agave nectar to taste, starting with 1 tablespoon.)
Place the salt in a small shallow bowl. Rub lime wedge along half of the rim of each of 6 cocktail glasses (where you want the salt to stick) and dip each in the salt.
Add ice to the pitcher and allow to sit until chilled. Pour into the glasses and serve immediately.
To make these without alcohol, brew the hibiscus tea normally and use that in place of the tequila for a delicious virgin margarita!
