From the NYT & USA Today Bestselling romance author, a story of sex, secrets, and theater…
“My whole body is vibrating, and I am lit up from the inside out. Every part of me is aching for him. I’m completely naked on top of the piano and he rakes me over with his eyes, making me feel like I’m the only one he’s ever wanted like this. I don’t know how he does this to me, how he makes me feel charged all over, but I’ve never been this turned on. I didn’t know I could be this turned on, but this man makes me feel like my body belongs to him…”
Twenty-three year old rising theatre star Jill McCormick has built a life out of pretending. Pretending she’s happy, pretending she’s not haunted by the dark secret that shattered her world six years ago. But then she comes face to face with her new director — sexy, sophisticated, jealous, all-alpha, dirty-talking Davis Milo. He tries to resist the actress he’s cast, but the attraction between them is too powerful, and soon their private rehearsals spiral into new, forbidden territory. The connection, the chemistry is undeniable, and it hits them anywhere, and everywhere — in the theater, on the piano, in the limo, in the restaurant…But the tragedy in Jill’s past stands between them. Davis has walls too, so they can either face their fears together, or risk the most intense love, sex and passion either has ever felt…
“I move with him, letting him touch me, kiss me, taste my body like I’m his canvas and he’s painting me with his tongue…”
We also dive more into Jill’s heartbreaking past. Jill has a painful secret she has never shared and will need to jump this hurdle, until then her heart can never give fully. The scenes that were written for these were superb. You will not be disappointed. Make sure to have some Kleenex handy.
WITTY: The banter between these two are some of the best I have read in a book. They are smart, passionate, playful and erotic. You get to see a flirty and seductive side of both characters.
SEXY: You will not be disappointed in this area, Davis is al Alpha, but the wonderful thing is Jill is no pushover, she is not weak. She is strong and confident and romantic and Davis sees this in her. He pulls out her inner desires, things she has longed for.
Lauren Blakely Interview:
I want to say that Lauren is one of the most friendly and nicest people I have had the pleasure of working with, I am extremely honored to get to interview her.
1. Favorite scene in the book:
I love the scene at the gala when Davis asks Jill to dance. But my favorite scene to write was restaurant scene.
2. Hardest scene to write:
Honestly? The first few chapters. Getting the right vibe early on is tough, but so important!
3. Favorite books:
Time Traveler’s Wife. Such a great romance! Harry Potter – because it’s awesome! Gone With the Wind – first romance I really fell in love with.
4. Book boyfriend:
I really liked Leo in Rock with Me by Kristen Proby. He is the perfect mix of alpha, artist and caring. (Though my first book boyfriend of all time was Rhett Butler, pursuant to point 4!)
5. Favorite heroine:
I loved Josie in French Lessons by Ellen Sussman, and Kylie in Lover Undercover by Sam Beck.
