Tacos are a family-friendly way to enjoy a meal together, and can be healthy when prepared with the right ingredients. The whole family can participate in this do-it-yourself dinner featuring a variety of nutritious and colorful toppings such as chopped tomatoes and peppers, low fat cheeses, crunchy and soft taco shells, seasonings and more. You can start a “Taco Tuesday” and have a healthy family fiesta!!
Here are a few simple, easy and better-for-you ideas from Ortega to kick off a healthy taco celebration:
- Try a new and healthy taco recipe, such as Easy Oven Soft Chicken Tacos or Baja Fish Tacos. Both are great options for a delightful hot luncheon, after-school snack or dinner on cold winter days. There are also other recipes you can try!
- Swap out corn taco shells for whole grain, such as Ortega Whole Grain Taco Shells. These taco shells are rich with flavor and texture and offer the fiber and complex carbohydrates your body needs.
- Ditch the salt! Use low sodium taco seasoning, such as Ortega 40% Less Sodium Taco Seasoning.
MY THOUGHTS:
My family LOVES (understatement) Mexican Food!!! We have it at least 2 times a week and sometimes more. Even Alex loves “picy” (spicy) food. I was exited to try the Ortega Taco Products… I have used the Whole Grain Taco Shells in the past but wanted to try the Taco Seasoning, Taco Sauce, and the Whole Wheat Tortillas! We loved them all!! I had never used Taco Sauce at home before but liked the taste that it brought to my Taco Salad! The Ortega Taco Products were yummy and healthy for my family too! We will definitely continue to buy these products and suggest them to anyone!
Start your own “Taco Tuesday” and stop by Ortega’s Facebook Fan Page and let them know what your making!
You can purchase Ortega Taco Products at your local Grocery Store!
Disclosure: I was given the opportunity to review Ortega Taco Products through the Family Review Network. I received one box of whole grain taco shells, one package of taco seasoning, one bottle of Taco Sauce, and one package of whole wheat tortillas for review purposes only. I was not compensated to write a positive or favorable review. This is Keeping Up With The Rheinlander’s personal opinion.
