The Abbey Road Sessions
Kylie Minogue
Audio CD (November 6, 2012)
Original Release Date: 2012
Number of Discs: 1
Label: PARLOPHONE
ASIN: B0096HNDXY
Synopsis:
To close out 2012, the year she celebrated K25, her 25 years as a recording artist, Kylie releases The Abbey Road Sessions, featuring many of her best-known hits “I Should Be So Lucky,” “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head” and “Locomotion” as well as rarities and collaborations, most notably a re-recording of her 1996 duet “Where The Wild Roses Grow” with Nick Cave. With breathtaking, cinematic new arrangements for orchestral ensemble, we hear the full range of Kylie’s beguiling voice, as well as explore a new side to the magical songs that have catapulted her to international acclaim. Think of it as Kylie’s intimate “best of” collection . . . up close and personal, with hand on heart.

Kylie is a breast cancer survivor and donates her time to American Cancer Society, as well as amFAR for AIDS research. Kylie’s latest single “Flower” is a song she wrote several years ago following her battle with breast cancer, to the child she wishes she might one day still have.

MY THOUGHTS:
I have been a fan of Kylie’s since I was in grade school… we would have P.E. class listening to Locomotion. Then when I turned 21, Kylie’s songs became our “getting ready” music with songs like Slow, and Fever to get us pumped up to go and have some fun!! I was super excited to be able to review her “new” release. I love the new renditions of her hits, and cannot believe that it has been 25 years of loving her music. I look forward to 25 more. I definitely recommend this album to Kylie fans. If you are not a fan from the past this album just might change your mind!!

Disclosure: I participated in this campaign for One2One Network. I received a free copy of the CD to facilitate my review. By posting, I am eligible for incentives. All opinions stated are Keeping Up With The Rheinlander’s own.
