LOVED Nickelodeon’s Big Help Book Drive #NickCFK #CBIAS

by | Oct 1, 2012 | Giving Back

I just love charitable events and organizations especially involving children!! Then add in books and I am in Heaven!! I love sharing my LOVE of reading with EVERYONE!! Usually a gift from me involves a good book! So… my family was super excited to gather books and donate them to the Austin Children’s Shelter for kids ages NB to 22 years old. Plus we encouraged others to do the same!!

My little Monkey was so excited that she was telling random people (strangers) about donating books to the children’s shelter!! {Made my heart melt and I was so proud of her}!!
Mrs. Rebecca dropped a lot of books for us to donate!!
Alex cheesing for the classics that we found for $1.99 each!! Our favorite is the Wizard of Oz!!
We gathered a TON of books!! Thanks to Mrs. Janelle, Mrs. Rebecca, The Schieffer’s, and Mrs Misty – They helped make our donation a HUGE success!!
Miss Phoenix wanted to come with us to help donate the books!!
I LOVE the look on their faces… excited and nervous!! Phoenix asked numerous questions about the kids that stay at ACS and their needs!!
Alex loved showing the ACS employee all of the books that she collected!!

We had the BEST time gathering these books. The best thing for me is the lesson that Alex is learning now, at such an early age!! I want her to know and understand what giving back is!! Organizations like Champions for Kids makes it so EASY to teach your children what a Simple Service Project is!! We challenge you to do something in your own area!!
