Today’s theme is: Favorite Holiday Food Dishes
Can you really have just one favorite?? Especially since we all (yes that means you too) use the Holiday’s as an excuse to eat, eat, eat!! Me, personally I love the appetizers! Something that I am asked to make every year for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Special Occasion is Spinich & Artichoke Dip! I have NEVER given this recipe out, even though I have been asked, begged, pleaded, and bribed but I thought why not share it now with all of you : ) … well actually I’m sharing the original recipe! I have since added quadrupled and changed a few things for my family, and if I told them how to make it then what would they need me for!!
The orignial recipe is actually my sister’s (Martha Stewart Jr.) and I am not sure where she got it from but it is super yummy!!
Angel’s Spinich & Artichoke Dip
1 – small heavy cream
1 – pkg cream cheese
1 – pkg frozen spinich
1 – pkg shredded parmesan cheese
1 – can artichoke hearts (you can use marinated)
Thaw and drain spinich really well. You can roll it up in a towel and wring it out to get as much liquid out as possible. Mix ingrediants in a pan to melt, stir well for the spinich to seperate. Serve & Enjoy!
You can serve it in a large round french bread with the middle dug out. You can use the dug out middle to dip with.
Other Ingrediants you can add:
*Shrimp
*Crab Meat
*Salsa
*Jalapenos
*Chopped Tomatoes
Here is another recipe that is really easy and good… I am asked for this recipe all the time too!
Sandy’s Sugar & Spice
1 pkg cream cheese
1 cup brown sugar
12 jalapeno slices (I use chopped jalapenos and I use a ton to spice it up more)
2 tsp. jalapeno juice
Heat oven to 350* mix brown sugar, jalapenos, and jalapeno juice. Bake until carmelized then pour over the cream cheese. Serve with chip or crackers.
** I have also made this in the microwave… not quite the same but still YUMMY!!
