What’s Best About Being an Indie Romance Writer? {Part2} -Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

Just a quick thanks to Mimi Jean Pamfiloff author of ACCIDENTALLY IN LOVE WITH…A GOD? (a Paranormal Romance) (Accidentally Yours) for guest posting today…
What’s Best About Being an Indie Romance Writer?
In one of my past guest blog posts, I listed five things I love about being an Indie writer.
“Who the heck cares?” you ask.
Good question!
Truthfully, I’m having such a great time that I hope to encourage any fence-sitters to jump in the Indie writer pool!  While doing it on your own is work, it’s not as hard as you might think, and there are great people out there just waiting to help you!  Case in point, my blog host and VBT guide. (Thank you guys, by the way!) And, personally, I think the world needs more romance writers!
That said, here is my list—ever increasing and nowhere near complete—of why I love being an Indie writer:

1    Shopping for abs at the Hotty Buffet (aka stock photo websites) for cover art.
2.      Hearing from awesome people, complete strangers, who’ve read my novel and take their time to send me so much encouragement. Pinch me!
3.      I now appreciate the hard work that went into the hundreds of novels I’ve read.
4.      Being an Indie writer has forced me to get out there and network, which has introduced me to so many great new books and blogs!
5.      I can say the word “erection” without blushing anymore!

Today, I’d like to continue the list…
6.      I LOVE being on the B&N Top 100 List for Both of my eBooks!!  It’s freaking cool!  Yes, it will not last forever, but nothing feels better (and scarier—but in a good way) than seeing your little book sitting right next to your all-time favorite author on the virtual bookshelf. I’m not worthy…I’m not worthy…(Sorry for the Bill and Ted reference, but couldn’t resist.)
7.      Now that I’m officially published, my friends ask to see my work.  (Okay, okay. Truthfully, I still have to do some begging… “Please, please, would you spell check for me?”
8.      I get to make up silly lists.
9.      My dream of someday doing this for a living actually has legs.
10. I set my own deadlines!

Seriously, for all you writers-to-be out there, if you haven’t jumped in yet, then you should.  I’ve been overwhelmed by the support and enthusiasm of the Indie writer community, the helpfulness of the RWA members, and the kindness of strangers.
Now, if you’re a voracious reader with no plans to ever write, please ignore my silly blog and just keep supporting your favorite authors like you’re doing!

Twenty-two-year-old Emma Keane has a secret friend. He’s powerful, mysterious, and devastatingly handsome. In her dreams, anyway.

In real life, he’s an enigma. Maybe just a teensie jealous. Definitely overbearing. He’s also a voice only she can hear.

So who or what is he? He won’t say. But if she wants to be free, to be normal, Emma will have to trek to the jungles once ruled by the Mayans and find the forgotten ruin holding the answers.

However, the ruthless deity she’s about to unknowingly unleash on the modern world might not be so easily extracted from her life. Bottom line, he’s got enemies, and now, so does she.
