Synopsis:
Llona Reese is used to living on the run. After a Vyken killed her parents, she knew they would eventually come for her too. She can’t take any chances. But when she starts to make friends for the first time in her life, she gets careless and lets her guard down. Big mistake. As an Aura, Llona can manipulate light and harness its energy. But if she wants to survive, Llona will have to defy the Auran Council and learn to use her power as a weapon against the Vyken whose sole desire is to take her light. Now she’s caught in something bigger than she can understand, with a power she can’t wield, and no one she can trust, except, just maybe, a mysterious stranger.
GUEST POST:
How it all began…
For those of us who live to write, our passion began somewhere. Often you will authors say they’ve been writing since they were a child, and although this may be true, I bet if they got down to the nitty gritty they could actually pin point a moment in their life when they felt words take possession of their soul. An allegory poltergeist, if you will.
My haunting began in 2007 when my sisters and I planned a trip to fulfill my mother’s dream – visit the land of her ancestors. In Ireland. Something magical happened when I stepped foot in that country. Call it the work of a fairy, or possibly a leprechaun (although I hear they hate Americans), but a spell was cast, and I’ve been writing obsessively every since. I finished two novels that year. A story of a witch and a vampire. It’s my personal favorite but it needs some major editing-love.
Those first books were great practice for my third novel, which was originally titled By the Light of the Moon (harlequin sounding, isn’t it?) The name was later changed to Fractured Light. I decided to query it to 50 publishers and agents and then shelf it to work on another project. I got to 46 when I finally received an offer I was happy with. My publisher and I have a great relationship. They are publishing the sequel to Fractured Light, Fractured Soul, and my humorous memoire titled Confessions of a Cereal Mother next year. Writing is a passion. A terribly, beautiful, time consuming passion.
Get possessed.
