DVD Review: The Classic Nursery Rhymes Collection

by | Jul 3, 2012 | KUWTR

After selling more than a million copies 30 years ago, Ocean Music is proud to announce the timeless and universally loved Nursery Rhymes collection has been digitally re-mastered for release on DVD and CD for the first time! Introducing The Classic Nursery Rhymes Collection.

The Classic Nursery Rhymes Collection is 72 traditional nursery rhymes performed in 12 five-minute vignettes (60 minutes running time). It’s a pop-up children’s book that opens and comes alive. The book’s pages become the background for live actors, children, puppets, stop-frame and simple animation story telling. Traditional illustrations and costumes give the program a classic “Olde World” style.

As viewers tell it, “The effect is charming and simple…” The Classic Nursery Rhymes Collection is not hyper or effects-driven. “The English accents give it an authentic feel” and the look is instantly accessible.

Connect with The Classic Nursery Rhymes

Initially after the DVD began I thought that my little one might not like it because of how old the videos are! Kids now days are so use to such high definition movies and cartoons that I wasn’t quite sure that this would get her attention… HOWEVER I was WRONG she really enjoyed watching and singing along. She has asked to watch it several times now yelling about the cow jumping over the moon! So I would have to say don’t judge it on how old it is but by how your kiddo will interact with it. We are giving it two thumbs up for entertaining and fun!!
