SUMMARY:
But I Dont Wanna Take A Bath! is the first in A Mike and Tyke Series of children’s picture books based on the experiences of the author’s children and grandchildren. Mike, his dog, Tyke, and his friend, Bud, splash and play all day in a mud puddle. As the day comes to an end, Bud goes home. Mike and Tyke are reluctant to go inside because they don’t “wanna” take a bath! Covered in mud, they decide to “disguise” themselves from Mom, or so they think. Written from a child’s prospective, children as young as 3 years old can identify and enjoy the various characters, costumes, and antics that children play. The book immediately grabs the audience’s attention and draws them into the story by asking questions and by demanding silence. Reading a book has never been more fun for parents and children of all ages!
Mildred Pope says, “You can’t sit around and wait for things to happen. I make things happen.” She owns her own real estate company and is a substitute teacher; when she shares her book in the classroom, she tells her students that she couldn’t have become an author if she had not stayed in school. Pope resides in the metro Atlanta area in Lithonia, Goergia.
MY THOUGHTS:
This is such a cute book! My little monkey enjoyed it so much! The pictures are great and colorful. The story is very relate-able! As I was reading the story to Alex, I was thinking of the times that she doesn’t want to take a bath and it made me laugh and smile! I am looking forward to the next installment of the Mike and Tyke Series.

That sounds like a cute book! I think it’s funny that he dresses up like Spongebob as a disguise. 😛
The author is a mother of three and a grandmother of 7

Sounds like a great book! Occasionally it is a struggle to get my 3 1/2 year old in, but usually they have a great time!
WHat a great book. I also need one about not wanting to go to bed! And not wanting to brush teeth, and not eating veggies…
