In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So on Fridays Kailani takes it easy on posting and just asks one question! So go link up and check out the other blogs that participate at An Island Life and ask your own question…
Our question this week is…

Can you believe these Texas Wildfires??

I live in Austin… so we are surrounded by the fires! Bastrop is not that far, Steiner Ranch is up the road, and another fire in Leander… all way too close!! Monday was kinda scary for us, especially when my Hubby said you might want to think about what you would take if we have to evacuate!!??!! The winds were so strong that day it was pretty nerve racking!! My heart goes out to all of those who have lost thier homes, or have damage! I really hope that they get a handle on things and get this fire contained!!

Sorry to hear about all the fires. I know how scary it can be. We live at the edge of the Withlacoochee State Forest and when we were building our house a fire came about 1500 feet from our yard. We thought we were going to lose our house before we even got it finished.

    This all saddens me…
Some places are flooding, while others are on fire… I really wish there was a way that they could help each other out.. you know, like send the water to the fire? I dunno…

It’s so terrible! All those homes lost. Hubby is a firefighter here in Colorado so we’ve been watching it close. We’ve had our own fires here in Colorado.

Where we live has been having fires too…well in the mountains, and people have had to evacuate. It’s about an hour-hour and a half away from us-so I guess we aren’t in danger, but the smoke has been horrible! I hope you guys don’t have to evacuate!

Even though I live in RI, because of the internet, I have, in a way, been touched by these fires. A blogging buddy I met through book blogging has lost her home and all her possessions. We became friends due to multiple things in common and a friendship grew. She called me yesterday and we cried together but I felt relieved to hear her voice and attitude. Stay safe Melissa.

No it’s a tragedy of Biblical proportions. I’m praying for your state and the people. Mother Nature has ravaged you this year.

Don’t forget about the fire in Spicewood. We were surrounded at our house and could see the Steiner Ranch fires from our driveway. It’s so scary – we NEED rain.

So very scary…especially if you are close to them. I heard it’s been super dry down there. Hopefully you can get some rain soon.
