In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So on Fridays Kailani takes it easy on posting and just asks one question! So go link up and check out the other blogs that participate at An Island Life and ask your own question…

 So my question this week…
Do you have a local icon for your city or state??

Yesterday Austin lost of it’s local icons.
Leslie ~ a cross dressing homeless man who made a BIG name for himself around here!!

I personally can remember being out about on 6th street and seeing Leslie in a Hooters outfit with short shorts and big hooters!

He will be missed…
Leslie (1951-2012)

Leslie Cochran (born as Albert Leslie Cochran (on June 24, 1951) is an American peace activist and cross-dresser, who is arguably the most locally famous street person, according to local media sources, in Austin, Texas, and a minor celebrity known worldwide. He is an outspoken critic of police treatment of the homeless. Many consider him to be the epitome of the ‘Keep Austin Weird’ campaign, as demonstrated by his three time run for mayor as well as numerous articles in The Austin Chronicle and local news stations.
