A crazy powerful story of female empowerment – YES PLEASE!
Happy Friday book babes!
One of my favorite things is watching a woman create a path for herself. Watching her shine and conquer the world however she wants inspires me to do the same. Every day. If you’re like me, here’s the tea on your weekend read.
Kristen Ashely’s all new MC read, Still Standing, is a crazy powerful story of female empowerment and I could not get enough.
There’s something about Kristen’s characters that are so relatable. Real and raw. And this one is no different. I fell in love with our heroine’s journey in this novel. Clara’s hit rock bottom and like many of us have experienced, her self-worth has taken a huge hit. Like most of us at some point in our lives, she’s starting over. And she’s starting from zero.
I felt so close and connected to this character. Watching her find her own power reminded me of my own, and the past relationships I needed to leave to protect myself. I saw myself in her. When she’s questioning her place and struggles, my heart bled with her. When she wins, I won, too. In Still Standing, Clara reminds us women can do incredible things. We are not defined by our lowest moments or failures, but how we pull ourselves up, find our inner strength and learn to fly.
Now this story wasn’t full of sunshine. It’s deep and thought provoking. It touches on painful and emotional topics. There were a few moments in this book where I paused, put my kindle down and took a deep breath. But ultimately, I trust Kristen Ashley to give me the story and HEA I need so I carried on and what a payoff! Still Standing is a story of a woman’s resilience–and one of forgiveness–that rewards the reader with a rainbow after battling the storm.
If you’ve already read Clara’s story, I’d love to hear what you thought! Were you rooting for her like me? Talking to her through your kindle like, “YES, girl.”? Email me and tell me all the things!
If you, like me, have ever felt down and out, but rose up, tossed your hair in a bun and got to work, I want to hear your story! And hell, these days that win can be getting out of bed and–let’s be real–taking a shower.
Here’s to a great weekend of reading and girl power.
Your girl, Hadley xoxo
Still Standing
When Clara Delany walks into the Aces High Motorcycle Club’s hangout, she’s hit rock bottom. She’s hiding her car from the repo man, she has less than two dollars in her bank account and the only employment she can get is delivering messages for a criminal.
All because of a man. Therefore, she’s sworn off them.
And then she meets West “Buck” Hardy, president of the Aces High MC.
Buck also meets her, and the minute he does, he makes it clear (to everyone but Clara) that they’re starting something. Since Clara doesn’t get that message, she decides to leave Buck and sort out her life in order to come back to him clean.
She’s not gone but hours before life hits Clara with another blow. Which means Buck and his boys have to ride in and save the day. After that, Buck makes no bones about where they stand.
But does he?
Welcome to the first novel in the Wild West MC series which will tell the stories of the brothers of the Aces High MC, the Resurrection MC and the Chaos MC…and the women who love them.

If you have any questions of content before you pick up Still Standing, I suggest you check out reviews for content warnings. But I will say (spoiler) the hero is not what he seems to be when you get to a dark moment.
